Privacy
Grind is built to help you track golf rounds, not to monetize your data. We collect only what we need to run the service and improve it. We never sell your data.

What we collect
- Account data
- If you sign up your email address and a hashed password. Accounts are optional. You can track and finish rounds without one.
- Round data
- When you finish a round: hole scores, putts, the four game-improvement stats, course, tee, and timestamps. Anonymous rounds get a private link; signed-in rounds are tied to your account.
- Email address
- Only if you ask us to email your round stats. We use it to send that message and do not add you to marketing lists.
- Contributions
- If you submit a scorecard or course correction: the photo, your notes, and your account email so we can follow up.
- Cookies
- A session cookie keeps you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
What stays on your device
- In-progress rounds
- Saved in your browser's local storage until you finish, reset, or clear them. They are not sent to our servers until you post the round.
- GPS for distances
- Used on your device to calculate yardages to the green. Your location is not stored on our servers.
What we don't do
- No selling your data
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
- No ads or ad trackers
- We do not run advertising or third-party ad trackers on Grind.
- No cross-site profiling
- We do not profile you across other websites.
How we use data
We use your data to operate Grind — store rounds, send requested emails, review contributions, and keep accounts working. We may use aggregated, non-identifiable information to understand usage and improve the product.
Your rights
You can easily delete your account directly from your dashboard anytime.
You can also ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing grind@fdo.cr.
Self-hosted instances
Grind is open source and can be self-hosted. If you run your own instance, you are the data controller. This policy applies to the service operated at grind.fdo.cr

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
